Vandenberg Launch Experience

The Vandenberg Launch Experience gives Central Coast families an unprecedented opportunity to launch rockets and experience the 21st century world of aerospace science through this exciting, hands-on educational exhibit. Kids will simulate a space launch using actual United Launch Alliance Control Center computer consoles, witness live feeds from Vandenberg Air Force Base on a 90-inch projection screen, explore the world of launch, rockets and satellites, take a Journey to Mars, and explore space science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) on interactive kiosks. The exhibit has been developed and fabricated as part of an Educational Partnership Agreement between the Santa Maria Valley Discovery Museum, the 30th Space Wing at Vandenberg Air Force Base and the talented technicians of the 30th Operations Support Squadron Training Device Design and Engineering Center.
