Now celebrating 20 years as the only children’s museum in Santa Barbara County, our 40 current “please touch” exhibit and program areas are ready for refurbishment and re-envisioning. Exciting new exhibits are under development and we invite the community to partner with us in any way possible to bring the Discovery Museum to life for the next generation of young minds. Ask us how you can help us GROW!

Discoveryland Tree House – $20,000 needed to complete project

Children who climb into the Discoveryland Tree House will explore ourselves, our valley, our world and beyond through the magic of books. This specially designated reading area will give children of all ages a fun space to focus on bilingual storytime experiences that encourage literacy in all disciplines – science, finance, arts, food, nutrition, and protecting our environment.

Discovery Farms Produce Truck – $10,000 needed to complete project

An homage to Santa Maria’s bountiful valley, this whimsical produce truck playground offers every child a dynamic outdoor place to play and learn about our local agriculture at the entrance to the museum. Our repurposed produce truck includes an open space for climbing and stacking boxes, a rigging system for hoisting giant strawberries, a slide, and more!

Vandenberg Launch Experience – Fundraising to begin soon for $100,000 project!

An exciting new Space Launch Center exhibit is under development through a partnership with Vandenberg Air Force Base and many of our area’s top aerospace companies. Please contact us for more information about getting involved with this celestial exploration project!
