Operations Coordinator:

This full-time opportunity is responsible for managing the Santa Maria Valley Discovery Museum’s daily operations. In this role you will supervise the Discovery Navigator’s, ensuring they have the tools necessary to create an engaging, fun, and safe environment for Museum visitors. This leadership role will manage and train the use of the Point-of-Sale system, coordinate memberships, field trips and other Museum activities. Additionally, this position offers growth and advancement potential. Weekend and occasional evening hours in support of Museum operations will be required.

Discovery Navigator:

Want a job that is more “play” than “work”? This part-time role with the Santa Maria Valley Discovery Museum might be what you are looking for. We offer a fun and engaging atmosphere working with children in a “hands on” learning environment. This is a chance to gain skills and knowledge in Early Childhood Education to compliment core college curriculum, or to explore a possible career path while gaining valuable work experience. This position will require weekends, and occasional evening hours for special events.

Makerspace Coordinator:

Looking for a leadership role to use your STEAM skills? The Makerspace Coordinator might be the position for you. This is an opportunity to hone leadership skills supervising our Makerspace Scouts, working with businesses for donations of materials, and sharing your passion for all things STEAM with children as they explore the various aspects of STEAM curriculum. This is a part-time position with weekends and occasional evening hours necessary.

Makerspace Scout (Program Designer):

Do you have a creative interest in STEAM learning? Our Makerspace Scouts create and develop Activity Boxes, record and film instructional videos, and work with children in our Makerspace area. The Scout works with our coordinator to plan and develop programming as well as lead activities within the Makerspace. This part-time position requires weekends and occasional evening hours.
