Science Saturday @ 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

New in 2017, the Santa Maria Valley Discovery Museum is partnering with the Santa Maria Utilities Department and Discovery Science to offer hands-on STEM experiments with local professionals the second Saturday of each month! This month, educator David Lindsey will lead the activity “Wiggly, Wonderful Worms: Our Friendly Compost Makers.” Look at and touch live red worms as you learn how they can turn food waste into rich compost, used to grow plants.  You will also learn how to build your own worm bin for composting at home!
