Bats are fuzzy little creatures capable of living more than 30 years and able to fly at speeds of 60 miles per hour! One species of bat, called the “Mexican free-tailed bat” was recorded reaching speeds of 100 miles per hour! Bats also hunt using echolocation and are capable of hunting in complete in total darkness! They can consume as many as 1200 mosquitos per hour and are vital predators to keep insect populations in check.
