Vandenberg Launch Exhibit

Perhaps best described as part theatre and part classroom, the Vandenburg Launch Experience exhibit is the result of a Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) collaboration between Vandenberg Space Force Base, and the Santa Maria Valley Discovery Museum. The exhibit is designed to introduce children to the world of space launch through an immersive, hands-on experience. Participants are able to operate the controls of the launch center and initiate their own launch resulting in awe inspiring experience which culminates with the delivery of the satellite on-orbit projected onto an amazing overhead projection screen with the heavens of the skies in the background. This experience is sure to stimulate all the senses and raise awareness of space launch through a real, hands-on experience.
