The ninth annual free Family Kite Festival presented by the Santa Maria Valley Discovery Museum and the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce will take place Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. at Rotary Centennial Park, 2625 South College Drive, in Santa Maria.
The event will feature kite-flying demonstrations, contests, vendors, food and music by Birdie.
“With our reputation as a windy city, Santa Maria is the perfect location for the family kite festival,” said Chris Slaughter, museum executive director. “We encourage the community to join us for this fun outdoor event that promotes quality, healthy outdoor activities for families.”
