While there are 37 animals that are called foxes, there are actually only 12 true species of fox! Included in this group are artic, fennec, red, and kit foxes. Foxes are also much more closely related to dogs than cats despite their many cat-like features. Like cats, foxes are nocturnal, stalk and pounce on prey, cat-like whiskers as well as a cat-like tongue. The grey fox even has semi-retractable claws, making it the only member of the dog family able to climb trees!
Several foxes have made dens and hidden themselves throughout the Museum! Can you help find them? Bring any you find to the front desk for a prize!
